Lose Weight? Help the Hungry!

E-mail Print
warheidaAre you struggling with your new year's resolution to lose weight?  Wardieya Schroeder took an amazing personal challenge that not only proved her determination but also her kind generosity and charity. Starting in April 2009 Wardieya followed a strict diet plan in conjunction with going to the gym and staying active on the weekends in order to lose weight.

After many quick tries Wardieya was looking for something that would motivate her enough to stick to her resolution. On the one hand, she realized that for her own health's sake it became necessary to do something serious about it. On the other hand, and much more importantly, she found an amazing way to combine helping herself with helping many other people.

In order to keep up the huge task of being active she set up a blog on the "Do it 4 Charity" website reporting on her progress. The platform also allows for friends, family and all the people out there following her stories to give donations with encouraging words. Several races throughout the year proved her will power and commitment as she lowered her time for 10 km by more than 15 minutes!

Via the "Do it 4 Charity" website she managed to raise as much as R 7 500 for FoodBank SA while losing about 10 kilos! Her efforts enabled FoodBank SA to provide more than 12 750 meals to the hungry of South Africa. Thank you, Wardieya!
