Our long search for space is over. FoodBank Durban will lift off on 21 July in a new 1088m² warehouse in Briardene. The countdown is well and truly under way! The level of excitement among our staff members is growing as they work extremely hard to prepare the warehouse for the launch. The slideshow below shows some "Before" pictures of FoodBank Durban's warehouse. We look forward to sharing the "After" pictures before long!
We've been helped enormously by some large donations in recent weeks including juice, office furniture and pallets. These donations will help us to hit the ground running by distributing food to our Agencies right away. We are grateful to all our donors and would like to pay particular tribute to Tiger Brands Beverages and Unilever.
We'll be hosting a launch celebration from noon to 2pm at the warehouse. Some of our food beneficiaries have agreed to provide entertainment at the celebration, while others have agreed to provide décor for the new warehouse. Guests at the FoodBank Durban launch will include many familiar names and faces in the Kwa-Zulu Natal business and NGO sector. We also look forward to support from Local, Provincial and National Government.
