worldfoodday_thFoodBank South Africa celebrated World Food Day (October 16) with an appearance on the eTV breakfast show, which also premiered a three minute video telling South Africans about FoodBank, and inviting them to support the work through a donation.  Numerous events were held at the local FoodBanks themselves.

thando_thThe growth of FoodBank in the last few months has resulted in an network of 4 operational FoodBanks, serving some 900 beneficiary organisations, and providing more that 1.2 million meals a month.

While statistics serve their place in helping us measure the impact FoodBank is making on reducing hunger, behind each number there are stories of hope for each child, women or man who is helped by the FoodBank network that are also worth telling. Here is one such story...
