FoodBank South Africa celebrated World Food Day (October 16) with an appearance on the eTV breakfast show, which also premiered a three minute video telling South Africans about FoodBank, and inviting them to support the work through a donation. Numerous events were held at the local FoodBanks themselves.

The growth of FoodBank in the last few months has resulted in an network of 4 operational FoodBanks, serving some 900 beneficiary organisations, and providing more that 1.2 million meals a month.
Unilever employees are serving the community on World Food Day!
Meals on Wheels is one of South Africa's oldest food distribution charities, and most well-known in the field of providing nutritious meals for aged people. With October 1 being the International Day of the Aged, we focus specifically on Meals on Wheels co-operation in Gauteng with FoodBank Johannesburg.
