LEARN about hunger: Spend the next 15 minutes browsing the www.foodbank.org.za website, focusing on the problem of hunger in South Africa (and the global situation), and how you can be a part of solving it.
TEACH your children: Download Hunger Bytes, a set of exercises to do with your children to educate your family about hunger in South Africa. Try and draw how hunger feels and find out how many South Africans are vulnerable to food insecurity, and how foodbanking is helping fight hunger. [Hunger Bytes is a PDF and requires Acrobat Reader.]
ENGAGE your community: Download the Placemat for the Hungry, and use it as a conversation piece for discussing hunger with your friends and in your community. You can engage your colleagues by putting the placemat out at lunch time, at your local coffee shop or restaurant by asking the owner to do the same, and by distributing it at your place of worship. USE social media: If you are a member of FaceBook, click on the link below to support the Help FoodBank SA end hunger in South Africa cause on Facebook. You will get regular updates of information, events, quizzes and competitions relating to FoodBank South Africa. Use the Invite link on the Cause Page to invite all your friends to join the cause as well.
MAKE a donation: While the long-term goal of foodbanking is a fully sustainable operation, we need capital to set up more food banks, while meeting the immediate needs of the hungry. Please consider making a donation. Every rand, dollar or pound makes a difference and is greatly appreciated. Our online donations portal will accept a donation of any amount above and including R50. We thank you for your kind contribution.
